Didn’t vote in Tuesday’s election? You’re not alone—only 1 in 5 eligible West Virginians voted in this year’s primary elections.
Only 19.7 of voters turned out according to preliminary numbers from Secretary of State Natalie Tennant (whom herself won the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate).
Tennant also said only minor issues were reported during the vote, “such as precincts being improperly numbered or road construction making the trip to the precinct longer.” Power outages did not stop voting at certain precincts in Logan and Hardy County because the voting machines were able to switch to their battery back-up.
At least the kids got a day off school.
