1. Blue and Gray Reunion – Philippi


Did you know West Virginia was the site of the first land battle of the Civil War? The weekend long event features a plethora of activities leading up to a reenactment of the Battle of Philippi on May 31. More info.

2. Fly Fishing Workshop – Cass


This is pretty self explanatory. the state park says the workshop is “an introduction to fly fishing fly tying and stream entomology.” Space is limited and reservations are required! More info.

3. Taste of Parkersburg – Parkersburg


For two nights, come out and taste the best restaurants and spirits this jewel of the Ohio Valley has to offer! The event mixes food, wine and beer tastings with music, with tickets starting at $20. More info.

4. Singer-Songwriter Suzanne Vega – Lewisburg


Best known for her songs “Luka” and “Tom’s Diner” (yeah, you probably remember Tom’s Diner ,click it. Hello 90’s),the internationally known artist takes the stage of Carnegie Hall Friday Night at 7:30 p.m.

5. Intro to Outdoor Adventure – North Bend


The state park is offering an introduction to outdoor adventure course this weekend that includes mountain biking and flat water kayaking. Again advanced registration is required.
