It’s been three long years since our Mountaineers last got a swing at those terrible Pittsburgh Panthers. Could the return of one of college football’s greatest rivalries finally be upon us?
It just may be.
“It’s one of my top priorities in scheduling”
In an interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette late last week, WVU’s Athletic Director Shane Lyons said that reviving the game is one of his top priorities.
“I think it’s a great thing for us as a university,” Lyons told the PG. “It’s a great thing for Pitt and it’s a great thing for college football as a whole.”
Looks like conversations about scheduling are already taking place, but as the PG points out:
Neither team has an open out-of-conference date until 2017.
But hey at least they’re thinking about it.
