The United Mine Workers of America has endorsed billionaire businessman Jim Justice (D-Lewisburg) to be the next governor of West Virginia, according to media reports.

The announcement came at an event in Charleston Thursday afternoon.

Media reported the endorsement came as a unanimous decision because the union felt Justice could bring coal mining jobs back to the state.

Justice’s main challenger for the Democratic nomination is state Sen. Jeff Kessler.

The primary election will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2016… or 180 days from now.
