You’re probably kicking yourself for missing another opportunity to buy the historic Sweet Springs resort in Monroe County yet again.

The resort (which hasn’t actually been a resort for awhile) sold at auction Thursday for $560,000.

Located about a half-hour drive from Lewisburg in Monroe County, the stately facility was constructed in 1792 and was a popular resort through the Civil War.

The estate became a state-owned old age home in the 20th century before a brief stint as a drug-treatment facilty.

It was last sold in 2005. Hopefully somebody will buy it and restore it to its former glory!
