A West Virginia state lawmaker tweeted Friday night that (presumptive) Democratic nominee for president Hillary Clinton should be executed.

Michael Folk, a Republican, tweeted Clinton should be tried for treason and hung on the National Mall.

Here’s a screen cap of the Delegate’s tweet:

Del. Folk told the Charleston Gazette that his tweet was meant to be hyperbolic and defended it as free speech. The Gazette reports the tweet came after the former Secretary of State’s e-mail scandal.

Folk represents the 63rd district just outside of Martinsburg.

The delegate’s tweet is also apparently under investigation by his employer, United Airlines. Folk is a commercial pilot for them.
