What would you do if you saw this alongside the road?
Karen Mann Hicks, of Princeton, posted this photo that appears to show a creepy clown walking alongside Simmons River Road in Mercer County on Sunday night.
As of Wednesday (9/14) it already has over 2.2k shares on Facebook.
The Mercer County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the photograph according to the Bluefield Daily Telegraph. They’re trying to determine where the photo came from and if it’s a joke, but a deputy called it “dangerous.”
The photo follows a round of creepy clown sightings from around the South:
- In August, a creepy clown in Greenville, South Carolina tried to lure children into the woods with candy.
- Last week, a clown was reported in Winston-Salem, North Carolina trying to do the same thing.
- On Tuesday 9/13, a clown reportedly emerged from a bush or abandoned house and chased kids near a school bus stop in Macon, Georgia.
We’ll update this post if there’s any word on who/what is clowning around in Southern West Virginia.
