WVU Pharmacy student Rebecca Berhanu was moved when she saw the hashtag #WVStrong take off on Twitter after the June floods that took the lives of 23 West Virginians. She loved what that hashtag said about us.
“I thought that would make for such an awesome song.” So she wrote it.
And the song she wrote is absolutely stunning—and it’s going back to help flood victims.
She hopes the song not only brings financial help to flood victims, but also awareness. “Months later, you kinda think everything’s fixed,” she says in a Facebook video, “and that’s not the case.”
