Hollywood is coming to Moundsville.
And folks now have an opportunity to be part of the fun.
Background actors are now being sought for a TV-series written by Stephen King.
It’s called “Castle Rock” and will be filmed at the Moundsville State Penitentiary Sept. 24-28.
Nancy Mosser Casting is handling background casting for this new Hulu series.
Local talent is needed to play prisoners, prison guards, prison staff, visiting family members and even pedestrians.
The title comes from King’s fictional Maine town and he has used it frequently in his works.
“A psychological-horror series set in the Steven King multiverse, Castle Rock combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of his best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out in a few square miles of Maine woodland,” Mosser’s business Facebook post reads.
Applicants must be available to work the four days the crew will be filming locally, have transportation and be prepared for some potentially long days.
All talent must be 18 years or older to apply.
Pay is $8 per hour, and overtime will be paid as necessary.
Extra long days, 12-14 hours long, will start in the early morning.
Costume fittings will be required for some roles.
To apply send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Include your name, age, location, phone number and clothing sizes (see Nancy Mosser Casting Facebook page post for specifics).
Applicants are asked to apply for just one role.
Since “older, junky” cars are also needed, applicants should include their car’s make, model, year and color.
