There’s news on the wildfire in rural Grant County.
Unfortunately, it’s not good.
Even though additional firefighters and a helicopter are now fighting the North Fire, the blaze has continued to grow.
The fire size has grown to 100 acres, doubling in about 24 hours, according to a U.S. Forest Service press release issued late Friday afternoon.
Officials say the blaze is still only 20 percent contained, and its cause continues to be under investigation.
It was first reported Oct. 2.
Additionally, an emergency closure order has been issued for the fire area. Click here for up-to-date information.
