Thanksgiving is special in a big way for Locke Wysong and his sister, Cesarina Wysong.
The Jefferson County siblings can’t wait to travel each year to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in New York City.
Clowning around is their specialty.
Today they will be part of the Court Jester Clowns with Queen of Hearts Group.
It’s an early morning since participants begin lining up at 6:30 a.m. before marching through Herald Square.
The duo have been part of this fun for seven years. They have been holiday clowns, birthday party clowns, cops and robber clowns, and cowboy clowns.
“Our first year we were banner carriers for Santa Claus,” he said.
Watch for them today.
Being a parade volunteer is a big deal. A friend who works for Macy’s originally sponsored them and the rest is history.
There are usually more than 1,000 volunteers who help with the beloved event, including Macy’s employees, family and friends.
The parade kicks off at 9 a.m.
